About Us

 In September 1997, Michael Brown Sr. and Pamela Brown founded Word of Truth International Christian Center (Word of Truth). Michael and Pamela purchased the church building and labored to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ in Chicago Heights, IL.

The Browns' heart was for evangelism, especially for the souls in “The Heights.” Michael and Pamela were also lovebirds, they loved each other deeply and hence, prioritized marriage and family ministry. They even hosted their own Radio Show on WYCA called “Talking Marriage with the Browns.” Their love for evangelisms even led Michael Brown Sr.  to preach in South Africa where he shared the word of God and saw many saved.

Michael and Pamela also loved to serve, during many Thanksgivings, the church provided local shelters with donations and for Christmas's they hosted Christmas for Tots, Operations Christmas Child, an international program, Angel Tree, that provided gifts to kids with incarcerated parents.

On Saturday, May 3, 2014, Michael Brown Sr. was severely injured, but his resilient spirit kept him teaching evangelism and bible study from his home. Pamela would hear God tell her that He had a lot more in store for her, so she continued preaching the Word of God while also being her husband’s full-time caregiver. Following the prompting of the Spirit of God, Michael and Pamela, invited Pastor Lindsey to co-pastor Word of Truth before they both transitioned on to Glory.
